US 4Million Dollar Tourism Investment


A US $4M resort offing various amenities and targeting overseas-beasd Guyanese will soon commence operation at Varsailles, West bank Demerara.

The project, the Aracari Resort, would be initially offering 36 execuitive suites but is seeking to expand in the futures. According to Chief Exceutives Officer of the project, sase Shewnarain, the resort would be the first "true" vaction resort in Guyanaand would not only provide accommodation but other facilities for mental and physical health as well. He said that the resort is similar in design to resorts found within the Caribbean including places like Cuba, Jamaica and Mexico.

Both the Guyanese Diaspora and the local market are being targeted. Currently, the complex consists of three main buildings, housing 36 executive suites, two restaurants, two bars, a swimming pool, a gymnasium, an internet cafe, a convenience store, Conference/Meetings room and a theatre/bandstand. The venue would also be available for banquets and weddings.
