"The Face" of a new hip hop generation
Brownface Gunna’s new single #1 on Euro DJ Leagues for 4 Weeks Straight
For Immediate Release:
Toronto, ON – "It's all about the roads that you take the paths that you chose, the ties that you break; only god knows." These words by a 22 year old emcee/ producer that has made his own path on a road of overly repeated formulas, for every music lover who ever felt like the industry keeps re-packaging the same music, there's BrownFace Gunna. Hailing from Toronto's west-end, of Guyanese descent, Brownface has big dreams to set the music world on fire with a cold twist. He is set to release his fourth project but this time as part of a duo along with long-time collaborator and childhood friend 4-Twoney. The group name is simple, BrownFace-Twoney. This winter they plan to release "The Cold Flo/ Flo Frio" which will definitely cause heads to turn. BrownFace has done an extensive number of solo songs but never anticipated it would be much of a different vibe working with a close friend. The two actually began their "Ruff Ruff Road" making songs on a tape deck along with 4-Twoney's younger brother, but this time the new vibe brought a new style of hip hop. They call it the "Cold Flo" or Flo Frio" the same as the CD name. BrownFace produced the majority of the project and they both feature on vocals in what they feel does not fit in a specific category. "We were never trying to be reggaton or dancehall but we also gave up fitting in with rap. We wanted the most accurate representation of who we are and now we've found it" BrownFace is proud of where he comes from, North American hip hop, but he couldn't dream of denying his West Indian roots. Mix that with some dominicano flavor courtesy of 4-Twoney and you've got a fresh international lethal combination for the music world. Fans can look forward to a video this winter for the single "When We Roll Up" as well a much anticipated world tour.
To date, Brownface has released three projects, The Grizzy, The Green Harvest and The Flush. Brownface-Twoney’s The Cold Flo/Flo Frio, will be the debut of the new style and will feature “When We Roll Up which is currently available on itunes.
